Spend a Summer at Maslon - An Overview

The Maslon summer program is an opportunity to have a variety of rich experiences, through meaningful work assignments, observation opportunities, pro bono experiences, and social interactions. Our goal is to provide the summer associate a thorough understanding of who we are, the work we do, and clients we serve.

Meaningful Work Assignments
Our summer program coordinators will work with you to provide a summer filled with real, interesting, and meaningful legal assignments. We will work with you in order to provide experiences in several areas of the law and expose you to working with many of our lawyers.

Staff Meeting
Each week you will meet, together with the other summer associates and the attorneys who coordinate the program, to review assignments you've been working on, receive new assignments, and learn about various aspects of the practices within the firm.

Evaluations
Our lawyers will give you constant feedback; during and after each assignment. In addition, our program coordinators will meet with you for a mid-summer and end-of-summer review session.

Pro Bono/Community Service
Many of our lawyers participate in various pro bono projects from immigration to children's advocacy to representing tenants in housing court. In addition, every summer we donate hours of labor to build a house as part of Habitat for Humanity. We invite you to join us in all our pro bono endeavors this summer.

Social Events
We provide many formal and informal opportunities for the Summer Associates to get to know everyone. Our Summer Associates are taken out to lunch regularly, attend practice team meetings, and are invited to organized events, such as attending a Kitchen in the Market™ cooking class, dinner at a partner's house, Twins and St. Paul Saints baseball games, and touring the Twin Cities while riding on the PedalPub®. In addition, firm attorneys are encouraged to invite summer associates to informal social gatherings and events.

The Intangibles
We are proud of our unique culture at Maslon. We are informal, collegial, and focused on providing the best service for our clients. A summer at the Maslon firm is a unique opportunity to see how a talented group of lawyers in a team-oriented environment work well together and support each other in all aspects of our lives. Our summer program is coordinated by a team of lawyers who are committed to making your summer the best ever.
