Voice of Maslon

Working at Maslon has been my most valuable and enriching professional experience to date. As someone who has never worked in the legal field prior to attending law school, I really did not know what to look for in a future employer, but Maslon was a fit from the very beginning.

My entire interview experience with Maslon was organic and enjoyable. I never felt self- conscious or intimidated. Instead, I felt that all my interviewers were genuinely interested in my background and experiences. Every time that I have spoken to a Maslon employee since, the conversations have been just as pleasant, and even more importantly, authentic. I trust Maslon as a legal advisor to its clients, as well as an employer. It speaks volumes that many others, from inside and outside the firm, feel the same.

In addition to working with an amazing group of people, Maslon offers real legal experience. The summer associate work mirrors that of a junior associate. My assignments were always geared towards furthering a client’s goals and that gave my summer immense value and meaning.

Furthermore, everyone at Maslon worked to tailor the summer to what I wanted and needed. My primary goals were to try out different practice areas and network with attorneys, and I was given every opportunity to do both. All my projects involved different practice groups, which gave me the chance to work with various attorneys, as well as engage with a variety of legal topics. Additional coffees, lunches and social events only served to further expand my network inside and outside of Maslon.

After a year of COVID-19 and Zoom law school, I did not know what to expect from my first legal position, but Maslon exceeded my unrealized expectations. I am thankful to everyone at Maslon who has made this summer exceptional. I would, and have, recommended Maslon to any of my fellow law students.
