2L Summer Associate
Maslon LLP, a flourishing mid-sized law firm in Minneapolis, is looking for highly motivated, mature and creative individuals with varied backgrounds, superior academic credentials, and significant personal achievements to join our 2026 Summer Associate Program.
Unlike larger firms, our size allows us to provide summer associates with an opportunity to have a variety of rich experiences through meaningful work assignments, observation opportunities, pro bono experiences, and social interactions. Our goal is to provide the summer associate a thorough understanding of who we are, the work we do, and clients we serve.
Why Maslon?
- Meaningful, Hands-On Work: If you want to be directly involved in substantive matters from day one, Maslon summer associates work on projects similar to what you’d receive as a junior attorney, which gives you a realistic look into associate life at Maslon.
- Real Client Interaction: If you want the opportunity to work closely with partners and clients, including the opportunity to attend client meetings and/or court appearances, the flatter structure at Maslon gives associates more opportunities earlier in their careers.
- Mentoring: If you are looking for hands-on guidance as you develop, Maslon summer associates are paired with three mentors during the program: a partner mentor, associate mentor, and writing mentor. Mentorship does not end once you become an associate. Maslon associates are paired with a partner mentor who is there to guide the associate in their development on the path to partnership.
- Collegial Culture: If you want to work in an inclusive and supportive culture that is genuinely interested in you as an individual, Maslon provides an environment that allows you to get to know your colleagues both on a personal and professional level.
- Advancement: If you are looking for a place to start your career, Maslon views the summer program as a pathway to law firm associate opportunities at the firm.
If you are smart and creative, hungry for hands-on experience, able to work both independently and as part of a team, and if you strive to be a great colleague and exceptional performer, we hope you'll consider joining our team.
Interested candidates should submit their cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and a writing sample HERE. The application deadline is Friday, May 30th. Initial interviews will take place on June 5th and 6th. Questions can be directed to Angie Roell, Director of Legal Talent, at angie.roell@maslon.com.
