Overview

Matt Loven is an attorney who represents a broad range of clients in real estate transactions, property development, and commercial leasing. He has particular skill working with local and state governments securing permits, entitlements, and plat approvals as a result of his former role as a municipal attorney.

To help ensure his most comprehensive counsel, Matt leverages extensive experience advising on property acquisition financing and development; commercial and industrial leasing; Section 1031 exchanges; purchase and sale agreements; title review and due diligence; and public zoning, private covenants, and other use restrictions. Clients appreciate his superior service and ability to meet deadlines.

Experience

  • Represented clients in real estate acquisition, entitlements, financing, and construction of multimillion dollar mixed-use projects in the City of Minneapolis.
  • Represented client in real estate acquisition, entitlements, financing, and construction of $70 million mixed-use multifamily and hotel project in the City of St. Paul.
  • Managed national office lease portfolio for large publicly traded insurance company.
  • Represented clients in complex 1031 tax-deferred exchanges involving tenant-in-common drop and swaps, reverse exchanges, and improvement exchanges.
  • Managed multi-state restaurant lease portfolios for large scale franchisees of Dominos and Subway.
  • Served as City Attorney for multiple municipalities in the State of Minnesota.
  • Served as legal attaché to the Holy See at the United Nations in New York City.
