Nathaniel Ajouri Selected for U.S. Bank Law Division Spotlight on Talent Program
April 16, 2024
Attorney Nathaniel Ajouri has been selected as one of 14 associates to participate in the 2024 U.S. Bank Spotlight on Talent program. The year-long cohort experience focuses on growing early-career lawyers through professional and leadership development.
This year's program kicked off in Minneapolis at U.S. Bank headquarters with networking, leadership and goal-setting activities with bank attorneys, its general counsel, chief diversity officer, and other bank leaders.
"As we kick off our eighth year of this program, we are more excited than ever to invest in the careers of an impressive group of attorneys from around the country through our immersive year-long Spotlight on Talent program," said Jim Chosy, senior executive vice president and general counsel for U.S. Bank. "We’re committed to supporting the advancement of rising talent not only within our own practice, but at our partner law firms and believe this unique cohort experience will help accelerate the growth and development of these attorneys."
Throughout the year, the cohort will participate in monthly events, including leadership meetings, practice group roundtables, mentoring, and the opportunity to present a CLE to the U.S. Bank Law Division. Spotlight participants also will strengthen their knowledge of the U.S. Bank business and develop stronger relationships with Law Division professionals through attendance at regular meetings.
"I'm honored that U.S. Bank has selected me for the Spotlight on Talent program, and I'm already gaining valuable development opportunities through the events," Nate said.
As a member of Maslon’s Litigation Group, Nate helps fiduciaries and individuals navigate complex probate and estate litigation matters. He has served as lead associate on Maslon teams representing both corporate and individual fiduciaries in contested trust litigation, as well as in petitions relating to trust administration. He also works with a broad spectrum of organizations in business, construction, and products liability litigation.
In a recent case, Nate served as the lead associate representing trustees for the trust of one of Fargo’s wealthiest businessmen in defense of challenges to his decision to leave most of his $40 million estate to a charitable foundation. The court dismissed some claims on summary judgment, and at trial, decided all remaining issues in our clients’ favor.
Nate recently co-authored a chapter for the 2023 Minnesota Courtroom Evidence Deskbook and frequently presents on various topics, including probate, estate, and fiduciary litigation. In his spare time he volunteers as a coach in Maslon’s UPLIFT Legal Institute for Teens—a mock trial program serving middle school students who reflect the rich diversity of the Twin Cities—as well as with the Minnesota State Bar Association Wills for Heroes Program.
Spotlight on Talent cohort participants have three to six years of experience and practice in an area relevant to legal services applicable to U.S. Bank business.
The program will conclude at the end of November.
