Estate Planning

For more than a half-century, prominent families and business leaders in Minnesota and throughout the Midwest have put their trust in Maslon to help them achieve their estate planning goals. That's because our noted Estate Planning team—one of Minnesota's most highly regarded—values helping people. We leverage our collective experience and strong commitment to client service to offer sophisticated, practical and responsive wealth-transfer counsel, including wealth preservation, estate planning and business-succession planning.

Our attorneys are devoted to understanding your concerns and helping you maximize the impact of your assets—and actively participate in the development of tax and wealth transfer policy through precedent-setting court rulings and legislative initiatives. As a testament to our work, the Estate Planning Group has been ranked as a "Leading Minnesota Firm for Private Wealth Law" in the Chambers High Net Worth (HNW) guide (2018-2024) and three of our partners are Fellows in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), a peer-elected honor based on outstanding reputation, exceptional skill, and substantial contributions to the field by lecturing, writing, teaching, and participating in bar activities. Maslon's estate planning attorneys also author noteworthy articles on legal trends, speak at national conferences, and participate on nonprofit and community boards—all of which enriches our experience and positions us to better serve our clients.

Minnesota Wills for Heroes
Maslon is proud to play a strong supporting role in the success of the Minnesota State Bar Association's Minnesota Wills for Heroes program.  Wills for Heroes is a program created to provide quality, no-cost estate-planning services to the families of the state's first responders—EMTs, police, firefighters and more—who daily risk their lives to help others. Partner Susan Link has served as program director for the organization since it was founded in 2007.
