Gov. Walz and Lt. Gov. Flanagan Appoint Carly Johnson to Board of Water and Soil Resources

Maslon is pleased to announce that Carly Johnson, attorney in the Litigation Group, has been appointed by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan to the state Board of Water and Soil Resources as the metropolitan area elected city official member. Carly was elected to the Oak Park Heights City Council in 2019, and also serves on the National League of Cities' Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Federal Advocacy Committee.
The appointment is effective through 2022.
The Board of Water and Soil Resources oversees and coordinates the water and soil resources management activities of local units of government through approval of local plans, administration of state grants, cost-sharing contracts, performance evaluation, and administrative appeals and hearings.

Carly assists clients across a broad range of general commercial litigation matters, including construction, real estate, and product liability disputes. Her practice is informed by her active civic engagement and service, which includes her election to the Oak Park Heights City Council shortly after earning her undergraduate degree in biology from St. Thomas. She went on to earn her law degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
