Amy Swedberg Recognized as One of the Top Women in Finance by Finance & Commerce

September 20, 2021

Maslon is pleased to announce that Partner Amy Swedberg has been selected as one of the 2021 Top Women in Finance by Finance & Commerce magazine. Given to only 29 honorees, the award recognizes women who are making an impact not only in their professions but in their communities in Minnesota. An outside panel of experts reviewed the nominations and helped make the selections.

Amy is a seasoned financial services attorney, distinguished by more than two decades of impactful work, exceptional dedication to her clients, and overall contributions to the industry. Her practice focuses primarily on assisting lenders and other commercial creditors, asset purchasers, adversary proceeding defendants, and indenture trustees with creditor rights and bankruptcy issues—bringing vital insight and counsel to companies and individuals in times of tremendous uncertainty and stress.

Amy also devotes an extraordinary amount of time and effort to serving her community through leadership roles, peer support and education, and volunteer work. During the last 20 years, Swedberg has led over 45 educational presentations on a variety of topics within her practice expertise. She regularly volunteers for the Legal Access Point (LAP) clinic at the Hennepin County Government Center and assists the Volunteer Lawyers Network with bankruptcy-related matters, including the letters to creditors program and assisting pro bono clients on bankruptcy adversary proceedings. In 2021, she was elected chair of the Minnesota chapter of the International Women's Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation, having served on its board of directors since 2015. The organization is dedicated to supporting and promoting women in the insolvency and restructuring professions.

Amy will be profiled in the Top Women in Finance magazine and celebrated at an awards event on Nov. 18, 2021, at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis.
