Susan Link, Julian Zebot, and Diana Marianetti to Present at Minnesota CLE's What Matters Most in Trusts & Estates Practice Seminar
September 29, 2015
Susan Link, Julian Zebot, and Diana Marianetti, all members of Maslon's Estate Planning Group, will present at Minnesota CLE's What Matters Most in Trusts & Estates Practice seminar on September 29, 2015. The seminar will focus on 16 issues that have significant importance to those in the trust & estates field, with some of the best practitioners giving short "TED-Talks"-type presentations.
As course chair, Susan will kick off the day-long event with a welcome and introduction. Throughout the seminar, Susan will moderate four panels illustrating scenarios that have significant importance to those in the trust & estates field. Julian and Diana will also participate in the fourth and third panel sessions, respectively, moderated by Susan.
In the afternoon, Diana will present a session titled, "Avoiding Litigation! How to Steer Clear of Problematic Drafting," that will provide an analysis of actual cases in which imprecise (or otherwise problematic) drafting led to litigation and tips on how to avoid these problems. Later, in an afternoon session titled, "How to Avoid a Fight," Julian will share tips and best practices for minimizing the risk of a will contest.
Susan is head of Maslon's Estate Planning Group and works with families to plan the disposition of their assets, both during lifetime and at death, and to accomplish the optimal estate and gift tax planning for the clients through wills, trusts, and other instruments. Susan also works with families after the death of a family member to ensure that the client's wishes are achieved and that the plan they created is carried out.
Julian focuses his practice on fiduciary and trust litigation as well as commercial litigation involving claims of unfair business competition, including lawsuits involving sales representatives and sales practices. He has broad litigation experience involving fiduciary duties, trusts, probate, business torts, the Minnesota Termination of Sales Representatives Act ("MTSRA"), Lanham Act claims, class actions, and other complex commercial litigation, including litigation involving banks, other financial service businesses, manufacturers and companies with sales forces, and closely held companies.
Diana practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, and trust administration. She works with families and businesses to design and prepare comprehensive estate plans through wills, trust agreements, and other related documents. In addition to her work in the Estate Planning Group, Diana is also a member of Maslon's Litigation Group, assisting clients with disputes involving fiduciary duties, trusts, and probate.
