Jim O'Connor and David Suchar to Co-Present at the 99th Annual AGC Convention

Jim O'Connor and David Suchar, partners in Maslon's Construction & Real Estate Litigation Group, will co-present for the Associated General Contractors of America's 99th Annual Convention on Monday, February 26, 2018. Their session, titled "Insurance Requirements are A Chang'in – New Insurance Requirements in the New AIA A201 and Updates to the ConsensusDocs Insurance Provisions," will review rewritten and restructured insurance requirements and will provide insight on what contractors need to do to comply or alternatively contract negotiation strategies.

Jim devotes his practice exclusively to construction and construction insurance-related matters. He represents engineers, general contractors, specialty contractors, owners, and designers in contract formation and construction matters throughout the United States. Jim is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, the former Chair of the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry, and an active member of the AGC's Contract Documents Committee and its Risk Management Committee. In 2011, he was selected as a 2012 Distinguished Legal Writing Award recipient by The Burton Awards for Legal Achievement.

David, chair of Maslon's Construction & Real Estate Litigation Group and co-chair of Maslon's Government & Internal Investigations Group, is a skilled trial attorney, regularly representing clients in construction and insurance coverage disputes, other commercial litigation, and government and internal investigations. His construction experience includes defect, payment, and lien claims in addition to all manner of construction-related insurance coverage claims, negotiations, and litigation. David has also developed a niche national practice representing commercial policyholders in insurance coverage disputes, including claims made on commercial general liability, professional liability, pollution, and crime policies. His recent successes include multimillion-dollar recoveries for such matters in Florida, Louisiana, Washington, Virginia, Maryland, and Utah.
