Jevon Bindman Elected to Board of Minnesota Justice Foundation
September 1, 2020
Maslon is pleased to announce that Jevon Bindman, attorney in Maslon's Litigation Group, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Justice Foundation (MJF). MJF strives for justice by creating opportunities for law students to perform public interest and pro bono legal services. The organization's most basic goal and the driving philosophy behind it is to link volunteer law students with opportunities to assist attorneys in meeting the legal needs of the low-income community.
Jevon has been well-recognized for his dedicated pro bono service. Most notably, he has been designated a Minnesota State Bar Association North Star Lawyer each year since 2015 and received the Light of Justice Award from the Texas Defender Service in 2018, as part of the Maslon pro bono team which successfully vacated the sentence of Douglas Tyrone Armstrong, who spent ten years on death row in Texas. Jevon regularly volunteers at the Minnesota State Law Library Appeals Clinic and in 2019 reversed a criminal conviction in the Court of Appeals on the basis that evidence was obtained in violation of the client's constitutional rights.
Jevon focuses his practice on construction and appellate litigation as well as general commercial matters. He provides practical advice to help his clients navigate all phases of their construction projects, from contract negotiations to asserting or defending claims. He also regularly represents clients at the Minnesota Court of Appeals and United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
