David Suchar and Peter Doely Present at American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law Annual Meeting

Maslon construction litigation Partners David Suchar and Peter Doely will present at a session April 14 at the American Bar Association (ABA) Forum on Construction Law Annual Meeting in Vancouver, B.C. David will participate in a panel discussion, “Lunchtime Chat with Firm Leaders,” moderated by Peter, for the Young Lawyers Division. Topics will include partnership, running a successful construction practice, business generation, compensation, and more.

David serves as vice chair of Maslon’s board of directors, executive committee member, and chair of the Construction & Real Estate Litigation Group. He is a skilled trial attorney and former federal prosecutor who regularly represents clients in construction and insurance coverage disputes, government and internal investigations, and a variety of commercial litigation. Who's Who Legal has consistently ranked him as one of the top four under-45 construction lawyers in the United States (2019-22). David has developed a niche national practice representing commercial policyholders in insurance coverage disputes, including on many of the largest construction projects and claims across the United States.
David’s leadership in the profession includes serving as host of the ABA Forum on Construction Law's podcast, "Construction Law Today" and as a steering committee member for the forum's division on insurance, surety, and liens. In addition, he was lead co-author for the insurance chapter in the ABA's decennial Construction Defects book (2021) and authored several insurance chapters in the ABA’s Construction Checklists book (2022).
Peter is a business litigator focused on resolving construction and insurance coverage disputes. He provides practical advice to help his clients navigate all phases of their construction projects, from contract negotiations to asserting or defending claims. He has represented a variety of participants in the construction industry, including owners, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, design professionals, and sureties in matters such as construction and design defect claims, delay and extra work claims, performance and payment bond claims, mechanics liens, and bid protests. Peter also advises clients on federal and state compliance issues.
