Bill Pentelovitch and Terry Newby to Present at The Expert Witness Seminar for Minnesota CLE

Maslon partners Bill Pentelovitch and Terry Newby will present at Minnesota CLE's The Expert Witness seminar on December 16, 2016. The seminar will cover how to best prepare, present, and challenge expert witnesses in light of the developing law.
In the morning, Terry will present a session titled, "The 'Hybrid Expert' – Special Challenges and Opportunities," where he will discuss mastering the rules governing privilege, disclosure, and presentation of experts who are also fact witnesses. In the afternoon, Bill will present a session titled, "An Expert Can't Say That, Can She?" where he will discuss the art of deconstructing expert testimony on cross-examination.
Bill is a business trial lawyer with more than 40 years of experience and hundreds of jury and bench trials as well as dozens of appeals in state and federal courts. He has also tried dozens of arbitrations. He practices nationally in the areas of non-compete, trade secret and unfair competition litigation, intellectual property licensing and royalty disputes, and is a leading authority in Minnesota in the area of ownership and governance disputes in corporations and partnerships. His wide-ranging trial practice encompasses virtually every type of dispute in which businesses can become embroiled, with a particular emphasis in the areas of non-compete, trade secrets, unfair competition, intellectual property licensing and royalty disputes, antitrust, securities, and financial services.
Terry focuses his practice on intellectual property, e-commerce, and complex commercial litigation matters. He has extensive IP litigation experience, successfully representing clients in state and federal courts throughout the country in a broad range of infringement matters involving patent, trademark, copyright, and trade dress as well as licensing disputes. Terry has also represented clients in complex commercial litigation matters including insurance disputes, civil RICO claims, breach of contract claims, and class actions.
