Terry Newby Profiled in Roseville City News on His Work with Police Advisory Committee
January 25, 2024
Litigation Group partner and intellectual property attorney Terrance Newby is profiled in the latest issue of the Roseville (MN) City News. In the article, Terry discusses his membership on the police department's Multicultural Advisory Committee (MAC) in the wake of police killings of Black men in the Twin Cities. The committee helped put in place a "Letters Instead" policy that directs police to send letters to drivers instead of initiating a traffic stop when they observe minor vehicle equipment violations that are not a public safety threat, like a broken taillight.
Terry told the publication that he's proud of that work. "MAC was a driving force behind that policy. This committee is making a difference in people's lives."
