Maslon ranked among top 10 best Minnesota law firms in litigation
July 19, 2006
Maslon is ranked in the top 10 among the best law firms for litigation in Minnesota, according to international legal publisher Chambers & Partners, in its 2006 Chambers USA , America's Leading Lawyers for Business. Maslon attorneys William Pentelovitch, David Herr and Richard Wilson were listed as leaders in Minnesota for Commercial Litigation and Herr was listed as the only Minnesota attorney ranked for his appellate expertise.
Chambers 2006 writes that Maslon "attorneys are said to 'hone in quickly on the issues,' with one client describing them as 'the best at cross-examination I have seen.'" This highly respected publication spends six months doing independent surveys, interviewing clients, peer lawyers and judges to determine its rankings.
William Pentelovitch, who is listed as one of the top seven business litigators, is sought after for his skill in non-compete cases and competitive practice and trade secrets disputes, and has developed an expertise assisting life science companies. Chambers describes Pentelovitch as "a 'terrific strategist' who 'sees the big picture.'"
David Herr heads the firm's appellate practice and is "renowned as 'one of the top appellate lawyers in the Eighth Circuit'" for his class action and complex litigation experience and publications, according to Chambers 2006 .
Richard Wilson, who has developed an expertise representing clients in business disputes, is rated for his ability to "present complicated legal arguments simply" which makes him "one of the best at cross-examination," Chambers 2006 writes.
Over the past decade, Chambers and Partners has gained a reputation for independent reporting of market opinions on legal service providers. It began in Europe and expanded coverage to include the United States in 2003.
