Jon Septer to Moderate Panel Discussions for 2023 Finance & Commerce Mid-Year Real Estate Update; Matt Loven Serves as Panelist

Jonathan Septer, partner and chair of Maslon's Real Estate Group, will moderate two panel discussions June 14 for the 2023 Mid-Year Real Estate Update presented by Finance & Commerce. Jon guides expert panelists, including Maslon Partner Matthew Loven, through a discussion about how to build the right team for a real estate transaction. Jon moderates a second session on the current state of the commercial real estate market and construction financing, how the financial markets have reacted to the recent banking crisis, whether the office towers will be able to restructure their financing, and more.
The event will be held at the St. Thomas Opus College of Business in Minneapolis. Two hours of real estate credit and two CLE hours are pending.

Jon has deep experience practicing in all facets of the commercial real estate life cycle, including real estate acquisitions and dispositions, commercial and agricultural leasing, title and survey due diligence review, real estate financing, and land use, entitlement, and permitting projects—with particular depth in the agribusiness and manufactured housing industries. Jon serves as general counsel to a broad array of clients, including several institutional investors, equipment manufacturers, lenders, farmers, manufactured housing community owners in connection with complex farmland and manufactured housing community acquisitions.
Matt represents a broad range of clients in real estate transactions, property development, and commercial leasing. He has particular skill working with local and state governments securing permits, entitlements, and plat approvals as a result of his former role as a municipal attorney. Matt leverages extensive experience advising on property acquisition financing and development; commercial and industrial leasing; Section 1031 exchanges; purchase and sale agreements; title review and due diligence; and public zoning, private covenants, and other use restrictions.
