Jim Long to Moderate Antitrust Fundamentals CLE for Minnesota State Bar Association

September 29, 2022

Litigation Group attorney Jim Long will moderate a three-hour CLE Sept. 29 on antitrust fundamentals for the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA). The course, featuring additional experts on antitrust law, provides a basic background in antitrust and serves as a refresher for in-house counsel and attorneys with some experience in the area. Antitrust law is currently the subject of renewed focus: In July 2021, the Biden Administration issued an executive order highlighting its commitment to aggressive enforcement of the antitrust laws; both the DOJ and FTC are increasingly active; and several major pieces of federal antitrust legislation are pending.

For more information or to register, go to: MSBA: Antitrust Fundamentals.

Jim has over 35 years' experience trying cases and counseling businesses in the areas of antitrust law, franchise law, and dealer/distribution law. He has successfully represented clients in multiple state and federal courts across the country; successfully tried cases to juries in antitrust, franchise, dealer termination, and breach of contract cases; responded to state AG, DOJ, and FTC investigations; worked on numerous arbitrations; and argued appeals in the Seventh and Eighth Circuit appellate courts in addition to several state appellate courts.

Jim has also taught antitrust law at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and will teach the antitrust class at the University of Minnesota Law School in spring 2023.
