Jevon Bindman and Katie Eisler Recognized as 2024 Up & Coming Attorneys by Minnesota Lawyer; Maslon Move Team Named Unsung Legal Heroes

August 7, 2024

Maslon is pleased to announce that Litigation Partner Jevon Bindman and Corporate & Securities Partner Katie Eisler have been named 2024 Up & Coming Attorneys by Minnesota Lawyer. The recognition highlights lawyers who have distinguished themselves by their professional accomplishments, leadership in the community, and commitment to the profession in their first decade of practice.

In addition, a team of Maslon staff who were instrumental in seamlessly moving the firm to a new downtown Minneapolis location were recognized by Minnesota Lawyer as Unsung Legal Heroes. Those honored were Suzette Allaire, Nate Bruce, Andrew Caplinger, Susan Cyronek, Rebecca Doyle, Tony Lee, Valerie Lorenz, Jonathan Riley, and Ken Thompson.

Jevon is an experienced trial lawyer who works with clients in a range of industries, with a focus on assisting policyholders in insurance coverage disputes and representing stakeholders in construction and real estate matters, as well as appeals. He appears frequently before Minnesota and federal appellate courts. In addition, Jevon co-authors four volumes of the Minnesota Practice Series—including Civil Rules Annotated and General Rules Annotated—and serves on the Minnesota Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure.

Jevon is also deeply engaged with pro bono work and has demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership in the community. He chairs Maslon's Pro Bono Committee and volunteers at the Minnesota State Law Library Appeals Clinic. Most recently, Jevon helped represent pro bono a married lesbian couple whose sperm donor had petitioned for legal parenthood of their 5-year-old child (a case covered by the Star Tribune). This is a case of first impression in Minnesota currently pending before the Court of Appeals.

Katie assists clients across a broad range of corporate and transactional legal needs. She has managed and negotiated complex mergers & acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, buy-sell agreements, and business succession agreements. Her expertise also includes negotiating, drafting, and revising a variety of commercial contracts, with particular focus on technology-related agreements, including software, licensing, and SaaS agreements.

Katie has frequently shared her expertise with fellow attorneys through speaking and writing, and her focus on training and mentoring of associates and marketing of Maslon's services has significantly increased the strength of the group. Outside of work, Katie provides pro bono corporate legal services to low-income business entrepreneurs and small business owners, including through the LegalCORPS program.
