Terri Krivosha to Receive Twin Cities Cardozo Society's 2024 Sidney Barrows Lifetime Commitment Award
April 2, 2024
Maslon is pleased to announce that Terri Krivosha, an attorney in Maslon's Corporate & Securities Group, has been selected to receive the 2024 Sidney Barrows Lifetime Commitment Award from the Twin Cities Cardozo Society.
Created in memory of Sidney Barrows, one of the founding chairs of the Cardozo Society, the award is given annually to a senior attorney or judge in the Twin Cities who exemplifies excellence in his or her practice, community service in the Jewish and general community, and lifelong learning. Past honorees include our late partner and founder Marvin Borman—the first recipient of the Award in 2000—as well as Maslon attorneys Bill Pentelovitch in 2014, Howard Tarkow in 2016, and Jon Parritz in 2022.
Terri will be honored at a dinner on June 20.
Among the region’s most accomplished corporate attorneys, Terri joined Maslon in 1993 and began building a successful practice that today includes M&A, restructurings and shareholder business divorces, and mediation of commercial disputes. Her remarkable leadership skills led Terri to be elected chair of the firm in 2003, making her the first woman managing partner among the largest 25 law firms in the Twin Cities. She held that position until 2007 and chaired the firm's Corporate & Securities Group from 2009 through 2013.
Terri has also devoted her leadership skills to supporting the profession and the larger community. In 2022, she was elected to the governing council of the Minnesota State Bar Association ADR Section. She also serves as a pro bono mediator for the Hennepin County District Court system and the Minnesota Department of Human Rights early settlement program, and was a mediator in Washington and Anoka County Conciliation Courts. In addition, Terri is a founding member of the Minnesota Chapter of the Women Presidents Organization, a group committed to helping women leaders develop their businesses, and a founding member of Global Rights for Women, a nonprofit whose goal is to end violence against women and girls. She has served as co-chair of the Minnesota Women Lawyers Professional Parents Committee, as a board member of the Gary S. Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management, and as a board member of the Jewish Community Foundation.
Terri has made mentorship a consistent priority throughout her career, from overseeing Maslon’s corporate associate training program to teaching for six years at William Mitchell College of Law to being one of the initial professors in the Mentor Externship Program at the University of St. Thomas School of Law.
The Twin Cities Cardozo Society is an affinity group for Jewish attorneys, judges, and law students, sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater St. Paul and the Minneapolis Jewish Federation. Its mission is to strengthen bonds among legal professionals through educational, social and philanthropic activities, and offer opportunities for communal involvement and leadership.
