Overview

RJ Shea is an associate in Maslon's Corporate & Securities Group who guides clients through a wide range of transactional and corporate matters. He has a strong track record of successfully drafting and negotiating license agreements and other commercial contracts with a focus on technology-related agreements, including software, biotech, and intellectual property licenses. RJ also has experience negotiating complex mergers and acquisitions, including conducting due diligence for intellectual property issues.

Prior to joining Maslon, RJ worked as an attorney in large AmLaw 100 firms in New York and Minneapolis. At his prior firms, he gained a depth of experience in IP and technology licensing and litigation, particularly in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries.

RJ earned his J.D. from Northwestern University, where he participated as a student attorney in the Clinic of International Human Rights, working in Turkey and Ireland, and taught legal concepts to high school students as part of the StreetLaw program in Chicago. RJ earned a B.S. in microbiology and English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
