December 8, 2020
Michael Sampson, partner in Maslon's Estate Planning Group and Cindy Costello, paralegal in Maslon's Estate Planning Group, will present at Minnesota CLE's Drafting Wills & Trust Agreements Forms Series in December. This series will include four half-day panel sessions that will provide valuable insight on complex estate planning issues based on realistic client scenarios.
On the morning of December 8, Michael will serve on a panel titled "The Minnesota Taxable Estate: Drafting with the End in Mind," in which panelists will discuss pros and cons of each plan for a client scenario. Panelists will walk through utilizing various plans from the Drafting Wills and Trust Agreements Deskbook and will consider steps needed to be taken by the drafter to ensure the plan works the way the client wishes.
Later that afternoon, Michael will serve on a panel session titled "The Minnesota Taxable Estate: The End is Just the Beginning: Administering the Plan," in which panelists will discuss administering a hypothetical estate scenario at the first death and at the second death under various Wills or Trusts used from the Drafting Wills and Trust Agreements Deskbook.
On December 16, Cindy will serve on a panel session titled "The Blended Family: The End is Just the Beginning – Administering the Plan," in which panelists will discuss administering another hypothetical estate scenario involving a blended family at the first death and at the second death under various Wills or Trusts used from the Drafting Wills and Trust Agreements Deskbook. Panelists will offer pointers on administering each type of plan and share what can be done when the plan does not go accordingly to plan.
