Litigation Partner Rikke Dierssen-Morice, who has served since 2014 as honorary consul for Denmark in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota, has been honored as a Knight of the Order of Dannebrog by the Queen of Denmark. Rikke received the honorary title in recognition of meritorious civil service to Denmark in her work as consul and her long history of pro bono service in the Danish community.
The Order of the Dannebrog is a Danish order of chivalry instituted in 1671. Until 1808, membership in the Order was limited to members of noble or royal rank. In 1951, women were included as potential members. Today, the Order of the Dannebrog is a means of honoring those who have demonstrated meritorious civil or military service, a particular contribution to the arts, sciences or business life, or who have worked for Danish interests.
Rikke manages a dynamic insurance litigation practice, helping major businesses across Minnesota and beyond recover hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance proceeds. Her early career experience drafting coverage opinions, position letters, and litigating as a part of a national team for a major insurer gives her keen insight to help policyholder clients work with claims representatives and coverage counsel to achieve maximum payment. Rikke has assisted recovery efforts on small to multimillion-dollar insurance claims and successfully handled high-stakes insurance claims in bench and jury trials throughout the U.S. She was elected in 2020 as a fellow at the American College of Coverage Counsel, a distinction based on skill, experience, and high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
In addition to her work as honorary consul for Denmark, Rikke serves as board president of the Danish American Center in Minneapolis.
