Rikke Dierssen-Morice Elected to Serve as President of the Danish American Center
September 30, 2021
Rikke Dierssen-Morice, a partner in Maslon's Insurance Coverage Litigation Group, has been elected to serve as president of the Danish American Center, a hub of Danish cultural exchange located in Minneapolis. A first-generation U.S. citizen and Dane, Rikke has served the nonprofit through board leadership and pro bono legal assistance for nearly two decades. She also serves as Honorary Consul for Denmark in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota, having been appointed by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark in 2014.
The Danish American Center's roots were planted more than a century ago, when Danish immigrant Martin Nelson saw the need for a gathering place for young people who came to the Twin Cities.
Rikke represents commercial policyholders in the U.S. and abroad on insurance claims and in recovery litigation, helping her clients recover hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance proceeds. She began her career drafting coverage opinions, position letters, and litigating as a part of a national coverage counsel team on all commercial coverages for a major insurer, and has successfully handled high-stakes insurance claims in bench and jury trials throughout the U.S.
Assisting recovery efforts on small to multimillion-dollar insurance claims, Rikke leverages her early experiences as insurer counsel to help her policyholder clients work with claims representatives and coverage counsel to achieve maximum payment. She is skilled at fully and correctly documenting many different types of insurance claims—and is a fierce advocate on behalf of her clients.
