Michael Sampson Elected Chair of the Board of Directors for Guild Incorporated

Maslon is pleased to announce that Michael Sampson was elected as chairperson of the Board of Directors of St. Paul-based nonprofit, Guild Incorporated, which helps individuals with mental illness in the Twin Cities metro area lead quality lives through an array of recovery focused, community treatment and rehabilitation services. Michael joined Guild Incorporated’s board in 2009, leading the Community Relations and Fundraising Committee, serving for a term as vice-chairperson and chairing the Public Policy Advisory Committee in 2013.

“Business leader representation on our board is essential to support the advancement of our mission,” says Grace Tangjerd Schmitt, President of Guild Incorporated. “Their expertise also helps to safeguard the organization as we navigate the ever changing landscape of healthcare. Michael Sampson is a member of Maslon's Estate Planning Group. His legal practice focuses on high-end estate and tax planning, estate and trust administration, charitable planning, and business succession planning. A frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars, Michael is very active in the Minnesota State Bar Association, currently serving as a member of the Probate and Trust Law Section Council and as co-chair of the Section’s Legislation Committee.
