Maslon Elects New Governance Committee; Cooper Ashley to Serve as Chair

Maslon is pleased to announce the election of its 2015 Governance Committee. Cooper Ashley has served on Maslon's Governance Committee since 2003, previously served as Chair from 2007-2011, and was elected to serve as chair again in 2015. He is joined by Mike McCarthy, member since 2014, and Paul Chestovich, a newly elected member of the firm’s Governance Committee.

Cooper Ashley is a partner in Maslon's Litigation Group, and is focused primarily on product liability matters on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants and complex class action and tort cases, including environmental toxic tort and fire/explosion cases. Cooper has first-chaired numerous jury and bench trials in state and federal courts, argued appeals before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Minnesota Supreme Court and the Minnesota Court of Appeals, and conducted all manner of related fact and expert discovery and motion practice. 

Mike McCarthy is a partner in Maslon's Litigation Group. He represents clients in complex litigation and appeals. His practice has involved a range of substantive matters, including breach of fiduciary duty, securities and consumer fraud, medical-device liability, environmental claims, and antitrust. Mike has defended numerous class actions and regularly handles or consults on appeals in federal and state court.

Paul Chestovich is a partner in Maslon's Business & Securities Group. He represents large national businesses and small closely held businesses in a variety of commercial transactional work, including general counseling, corporate and governance, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, securities offerings and regulation, and financing transactions. In addition, Paul has particular experience with the formation and operation of investment funds such as hedge funds and venture-capital funds.
