Maslon is pleased to announce that Leora Maccabee Itman, attorney in Maslon's Litigation Group, has been selected as a 2016 40 Under 40 Honoree by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Each year, Business Journal editors sift through hundreds of nominations—more than 550 this year—and choose 40 leaders under the age of 40 who have already accomplished much in their professional lives while also taking a leading role in the Twin Cities community.
Leora practices in the areas of general business, trust & estate, and tort & product liability litigation and prides herself on offering exceptional legal service to businesses—from multimillion-dollar companies to startups—facing conflicts and challenges that at minimum threaten to distract from the products they are selling and services they are providing to our community, and at maximum are bet-the-company matters. While building her legal practice, she founded the Minneapolis-based Jewish nonprofit Jewfolk Media, Inc. which, through its current project, TCJewfolk.com, connects, engages, and inspires tens of thousands of young adults in the Twin Cities Jewish community and beyond. Leora also makes a strong commitment to pro bono representation of low-income individuals. In particular, in 2015 she dedicated over 100 hours to assist individuals during negotiations and trial in Housing Court to help them obtain safe and secure housing as well as relief from unmanageable consumer debt obligations. For her outstanding contributions, she was honored with Maslon's 2015 Pro Bono Service Award.
