Jon Parritz Named 2008 "Attorneys of the Year" by Minnesota Lawyer

January 14, 2009

Jon Parritz, member of Maslon's Litigation Group, has been named 2008 "Attorney of the Year" by Minnesota Lawyer. The "Attorney of the Year" award is reserved for a select group of attorneys who distinguished themselves in 2008 with their exemplary work. Criteria for selection include leadership in the profession, involvement in major cases or other newsworthy events, excellence in corporate or transactional services, and public service. Nominations for the award were submitted by bar association representatives, judges, lawyers and other members of the legal community. The final list of Honorees were chosen by Minnesota Lawyer's editorial staff.

Jon was selected with co-lead counsel from another firm for their collective role in obtaining a $54 million settlement in class-action suit against Wal-Mart. He will be honored alongside a short list of selected attorneys at an awards dinner on February 24, 2009.

Jon Parritz is chair of Maslon's Competitive Practices Litigation Group, and also a member of its Business Litigation, Labor and Employment, ERISA Litigation and Insurance and Intellectual Property Litigation Groups. Jon has more than 20 years' experience handling major complex litigation matters for individual and organizational clients in a wide variety of industries and professions, including insurance, manufacturing, retailing, education, law, medicine, telecommunications, agriculture and finance.
